Radya Pustaka Museum in Surakarta
Radya Pustaka Museum is a museum located in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia.
Brief history
The museum was founded in the reign of Kanjeng Pakubuwono IX by Raden Duke Sosrodiningrat IV in dalem Kepatihan on October 28, 1890. Kanjeng Raden Duke Sosrodiningrat IV has served as Vice Regent Pakubuwono Pakubuwono IX and X. The museum then moved to current location, Radyapustaka Museum Building in Jalan Slamet Riyadi, Surakarta, on January 1, 1913. At that time the museum building is the residence of a Dutch citizen named Johannes Busselaar.
Collection
Radya Museum Library has a collection consisting of various statues, inheritance customs, shadow puppets and ancient books. Collection of ancient books that many of them had sought about Reh Wulang IV Pakubuwono essay whose contents include instructions regarding the administration and fiber compositions Rama poet of Surakarta bernamaYasadipura I which tells of the epic Ramayana.
