Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII)is a cultural tourist areas in Jakarta. Located at coordinates 6 ° 18'6 .8 "S, 106 ° 53'47 .2" BT, in the middle there is a lake TMII depicting the great Indonesian archipelago in small form.
History
The idea of development that includes a complete miniature Indonesia with everything in it is triggered by the First Lady, Siti Hartinah, is better known as Ibu Tien Soeharto. This idea said at a meeting in Jalan Cendana no. 8 Jakarta on March 13, 1970. Through this miniature is expected to generate a sense of pride and a sense of love of the country in the entire Indonesian nation. So began a project called Project Thumbnail Indonesia "Indonesia Indah", undertaken by Yayasan Harapan Kita.
TMII built in 1972 and inaugurated on April 20, 1975. Various aspects of natural and cultural richness of Indonesia until the utilization of modern technology exhibited in the area of 150 hectares.
Logo and mascot
TMII a logo that essentially consists of two letters I and I. The two letters represent the name "Indonesia Indah" while the mascot of Hanuman puppet character called Nitra (Anjani Putra). Mascot Taman Mini "Indonesia Indah" was established usage by Mrs. Tien Soeharto, to coincide with the bi monodon TMII age, in 1991.
